Law Enforcement and Public Entity Civil Rights Defense

We defend law enforcement officers, correctional staff, and public agencies in civil rights actions brought under 42 U.S.C. §1983 — including excessive force, false arrest, Fourth Amendment, and Monell claims.

Our team has presented to the Defense Research Institute on defending municipalities in Monell claims and on the application of the Heck Doctrine and PC 69/148 to civil rights litigation. We bring substantive expertise and tactical familiarity with the federal courts of the Eastern and Northern Districts of California where these cases are tried.
