Summer D. Ryan is an associate of the firm with a practice emphasis on civil litigation. Ms. Ryan’s areas of focus include insurance defense and general employment and labor issues, as well as employment related litigation and administrative claims with the EEOC, DFEH and DLSE (Labor Commissioner).

Ms. Ryan was raised in Shasta County, and returned to Redding in 2006 to join the firm. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in business administration with a concentration in international relations. She received her J.D. from California Western School of Law, where she was awarded the American Jurisprudence award in Trial Practice and Advanced Legal Research. During law school she served as a junior board member of the Women’s Law Caucus and was a member of the International Health Law Society. She has been published in the Journal of Biolaw & Business.

Ms. Ryan is admitted to practice before the State Bar of California, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California and U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. She is a member of the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada, the Defense Research Institute, the California Young Lawyers Association, the Shasta Trinity County Bar Association, and the Women Lawyers Club of Shasta and Tehama Counties. She currently volunteers on the Board of Directors for Shasta Head Start and is a mentor with the Shasta Family YMCA PlusONE Mentors Program.
