Mr. James is an associate with the firm with a practice emphasis in personal injury and general civil litigation. Mr. James received his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Oregon in 2000 and attended law school at Lewis and Clark in Portland, OR and Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2008. Mr. James began his legal career as a public defender in Oregon handling criminal defense, post-conviction and dependency cases. After receiving his license in California, Mr. James worked as a contract attorney for a Fortune 100 company on the initial discovery stages of various Federal investigations. Prior to joining Maire & Deedon, Mr. James held the position of Deputy Trial Counsel for the State Bar of California where he investigated complaints against attorneys for ethics violations. Mr. James has been involved with numerous volunteer organizations over the years including Habitat for Humanity, Napa County Legal Aid and the CARA Family Detention Pro Bono Project. Mr. James is a member of the State Bar of California and the Shasta-Trinity Counties Bar Association. He is also an Inactive member of the Oregon State Bar and the Florida State Bar.
